InSite:A Guide To Proofing Online
Insite is Register Graphics’ online proofing system. InSite is a powerful web-based program which allows you, the customer, to upload files, view high-resolution digital files used for printing, annotate corrections that need to be made, and approve pages online.
Getting Started
Username & Password:
You will be notified by email of your username and password, along with the web address of the InSite homepage.

InSite is browser specific. If you are using a PC, then you must use Internet Explorer. If you are using a MAC, then you must use Safari.

InSite usernames and passwords are case-sensitive.

Login
Before you login for the first time, it is a good idea to click on the System Diagnostics link, found just below the login button. This test will indicate any updates that need to be installed before proceeding to the next step.

If updates are necessary, please call Register Graphics at 1-800-593-9048 for further instructions.
Viewing Job Information
Jobs List
The main jobs screen, as seen to the right, lists all of the jobs currently in-process for your company.

You will be notified by email about ALL jobs and their activities, including when proofs are available for viewing.


Job Home
Clicking on a job title, will open a screen similiar to the one on the right. Here you can see the number of pages ready for approval, upload files, add/read notes, and check for any pages that may need to be reviewed.

If no pages have been added for this job, they will be posted when ready for approval.
Uploading Files
File Transfer
InSite allows for easy uploading of files. To begin, click New Upload located to the right of File Transfer.

Upload Name
It is important to name the upload accordingly. We suggest including the job number or name, and the date.

Files to Upload
There are two ways to designate your files for upload: (1) You can drag files and folders to this window shown at the right. (2) By clicking the page icon with the green plus sign, you will be prompted to browse for files.

When you have finished choosing your files, click
Upload button.
Viewing Pages
Pages
After you have recieved an email notification requesting approval, your Pages menu should look similiar to the screen shown here. Choose Total.

Thumbnails
The next screen shot should display thumbnails of your pages.

Smart Viewer
Clicking either the thumbnail or the name of the file will open that page in Smart Viewer. Smart Viewer allows you to see the full resolution files, used for printing. It also contains tools for adding comments regarding corrections and colors.

If you have not updated your sytem requirements or are using the wrong browser, you will not be able to view your pages in Smart Viewer.
Approving Pages

Just below the toolbar in the upper left hand corner there are two buttons a
CHECK or “X”.

Approved
After you have carefully checked over a page, and there are no errors or changes, you can approve the page by clicking on the checkmark.

This is the “FINAL” approval. You will NOT see hard-copy proofs, unless otherwise stated by your salesperson, and confirmed in your production acknowledgement.


Request Corrections
If, however, you have carefully checked over a page, and there are errors or changes, you will need to use the Text Annotation Tool. After selecting this tool, simply click where you need to note a change. Repeat as neccesary. When you have finished with the
Text Annotation Tool, you can submit your request for corrections by clicking the “X”. A PDF will be sent to all parties with the annotations included. A corrected page will be posted, and you will be notified the page is again ready for approval.

After submitting each page for approval or for corrections, you will be asked if you want to move on to the next page, or finish your session in Smart Viewer.
